Have you wanted to knit a scarf with cables, but hate ending up with a “wrong” side to it? Then, try this pattern.
The front of this scarf has two plaited cables running the length of the scarf sandwiched in between ribbings. The back side of the scarf shows only the ribbing. Thus, you will be the owner of a scarf with no “wrong” side. (The trick lies in how you maneuver the cable needles.)
Finished measurements:
Scarf width: 5.25 inches (13 cm)
Scarf length: 5.25 feet (1.6 m)
Note that your measurements may vary depending on where you choose to end the scarf.
Yarn:
1 skein of Peruvian Tweed yarn
100% Alpaca
Materials needed:
Size 9 needles (5.5 mm)
Cable needle
Recommended knitting skill level:
Easy
As with all my patterns, you will receive a pdf document providing step-by-step instructions on how to make the scarf. For those who are visually oriented (as I am!), I also provide a knitting chart explaining how to knit the repeating cables.

[…] Scarves are wonderful things, but I always hate when the wrong side peeks out. Knitted Gems has a beautiful pattern that solves this problem. The Cabled and Ribbed Scarf is reversible with cables on one side and ribbing on the other. Using only 600 yards of DK weight yarn, the Cabled and Ribbed Scarf would be a wonderful holiday knit. The pattern may be found on Ravelry or at the Knitted Gems Pattern Store. […]
